If you’re looking for simple flat wart treatment options, you’ve landed in the right place! Now that you know what kind of wart you have, you can start looking at treatment options, but before we begin, let’s look at what a flat wart is, and what causes it.
So what is a flat wart?
Flat warts are basically benign tumors on your skin. They are usually really tiny. Most of the time they appear on your face. Sometimes you can have up to a hundred all small warts all in one place.
These warts are usually the color of your skin but can also be pink, yellow or a light brown color. Flat warts on the face will not cause any harm if you decide not to treat them. But if you find out you have flat warts in your genital area, it could be a good idea to have em checked out by a doctor.
What causes flat warts?
Flat warts, like most other warts, are caused by the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV). As annoying as these warts may be for you, you probably don’t want to pass them on to anyone else.
HPV is the gift that keeps on giving. It spreads through direct physical contact. That means you shouldn’t touch your warts and then touch another place on your body. You can pass them on through sharing towels, or touching someone else’s warts.
So, now that you have them, what can you do?
Conventional options
You can pick up some over the counter medicine, but for other options you’ll have to pay your doctor a visit. These medicines work by using acids to slowly remove the dead skin from the top of the wart.
Over time the medicines will wear the warts down until they can be peeled off or will fall off on their own. If you have an extra large wart that doesn’t seems to be going anywhere, you can always go for surgical removal. While this does have its positives, it also comes with a few negatives.
The cost and risk of scarring that surgery may bring, usually does not get you jumping around in joy. Also, the warts may come back over time. There are other surgical options for getting those warts removed, including Laser surgery and Cauterization.
Natural options
Natural options are safe and effective, and many say they work as well as the traditional options, if not better. The natural options work by boosting up your immune system (remember to eat your fruits & veggies). Additionally you can apply one of several things to your skin.
Apple Cider Vinegar is the most common natural treatment. Just apply it to your skin, cover with a band aid, and repeat every day for about a week. Your wart should begin to fall off after that. You can also try using garlic, both eating it raw, and applying it to your wart.
Aloe vera has also been known to help, just apply it in the same manner as apple cider vinegar.
I’m a big proponent of choosing a natural flat wart treatment. I suggest you try them first, but if your wart is bothering you a lot, go to your doctor, and have a look.
