Wart Removal – How to Remove Warts

How exactly is wart removal done? You hear all this mumbo jumbo about how to remove warts or someone finding a cure for genital warts, but does it really work?

There are many different types of warts and methods of getting rid of warts. The two titans that are always clashing against each other are conventional treatments (i.e. doctors) and natural treatments (yay, nature!).

We personally have always liked doing things naturally. We have had our share of experiences with the traditional medical industry, and we do not want more of them! They suck!

They do have their uses though and oddly enough, some people prefer going to them, and that is fine! Do whatever feels right for you, we are here to share our point of view.

Getting Rid of Warts – 6 Different Treatments for Wart Removal

Let us look at a few ways that you can get rid of your warts, and yes, we will include some wart removal treatments that involve doctors, so prepare yourself for the horror! 😉

  1. Electrocution
This is exactly what it sounds like. It is called Electrodesiccation in medical speak and it uses an electric current to destroy the wart. Medical sites warn that the resulting smoke plume may be infectious. So look out for that smoke if you do it at home! 😀

  2. Freezing
Cryotherapy uses liquid nitrogen or a cryoprobe (a very cold stick) to freeze your wart and then remove it. It is said to have a high response rate with few side effects.

  3. Over the Counter Medication
There are a few different varieties of these. You can get a freeze spray that you can use at home or you can get Salicylic-acid preparations that come in the form of drops, gels, pads, and plasters. Salicylic acid dissolves the protein which makes up warts.

  4. Laser Therapy
This one is commonly used for extensive or recurrent genital warts. It’s pretty simple, the doctor shoots a laser on your wart which destroys it. The disadvanteges you ask? It’s expensive, it takes a long time to heal and you will get a scar.

  5. Surgery
If all else fails there is always surgery. It feels like this is the standard in the medical community. If nothing works, we’ll just use a knife and see what happens. This is expensive, takes longer (post-op), leaves a scar etc.

  6. Duct Tape
It’s true! Using duct tape is an effective wart removal technique. It has even been proven that duct tape is more effective than cryotherapy. Just apply the duct tape to your wart and be persistent. It might take weeks before you start seeing results.

  7. Other Alternatives
You can also find very good eBooks on the matter. One of the best we’ve reviewed is called No More Moles, Warts, or Skin Tags™ by Chris Gibson. You might want to check it out, it has some natural remedies in it.
