ADVERTISEMENTS
There’s no shortage of home remedies for eczema. Natural treatments for eczema are all over the place. Maybe you’ve seen all the products, websites and commercials promising their own eczema natural cures?
I remember when my eczema was at its worst (It’s gone now!) and I was frantically seeking a natural treatment that would work. I had been using steroid creams and wasn’t impressed by the results nor the adverse effects if used for prolonged periods of time.
So I started to gravitate towards natural treatments for eczema. In this article you’ll find what I used and what I liked.
Enjoy
#1 – Diet
Before you do anything, you have to become aware of which foods cause eczema and EAT HEALTHY!
There’s no use in trying any treatments if you’re putting any of the following into your body:
- Alcohol
- Artificial sweeteners (splenda, aspartame, etc..)
- Caffeine (try to at least reduce the amount you drink)
- Junk food (hamburgers, pizzas, hot dogs…)
- Processed foods (cookies, white pasta…)
- Sugar (candy, ice cream, bread…)
Bread is a tricky one, most breads out there contain sugar or syrup which sucks. You can find good breads, but I would avoid them since breads are usually processed and unhealthy for you.
#2 – Creams
The only cream that I had success with came from Freederm, and no, I do not get paid if you buy through that link.
I used freederm to get rid of my eczema, and from there I started eating extremely healthy and moisturizing every day. My eczema hasn’t been back since.
Before I tried freederm I tried the usual “home remedies for eczema” that doctors prescribe in the form of steroid creams.
They worked for awhile, but then stopped. I also read that they thin out your skin, so I started looking for natural treatments.
#3 – Acupuncture
I had a period in my life where I lived in Spain for 8 months (It was awesome, I might go back there). During this time I tried a bunch of stuff and the thing that I noticed worked best was acupuncture.
I went to this old Chinese guy who had his practice in his apartment I think, it was re-done so it looked pretty nice. He came in, asked me what was going on, saw my eczema and went “aah”, “ooh” and “si”.
He then put the needles in (it doesn’t hurt at all), put a sheet over me to keep me warm and left the room.
I only went there two or three times, but my eczema improved a lot. It isn’t exactly a home remedy, but I definitely think that it is a great natural treatment for eczema.
